In a report on Monday (State involvement at stake in review of “Fair Deal”, Page 4) it was suggested that the private nursing home sector “generally does not cater to high-dependency patients”. The representative organisation for the sector, Nursing Homes Ireland, however, says that its research shows that “private and voluntary nursing homes have more high and maximum dependency residents than public nursing homes.” Neither the HSE nor Hiqa keep comparative figures.
A reference yesterday to the Luas system (Reflecting the City’s True Nature, Summer Living) incorrectly suggested that the system’s gauges are incompatible.
