Sir, – Ireland has “run out” of accommodation for Ukrainian refugees and future arrivals will be “stranded in an airport without a bed” (News, July 5th).
Considering the Government, particularly Fine Gael, has for years presided over a severe housing shortage and affordability crisis (while backbenchers seemingly do nothing but complain about the Green Party), wasn’t this latest calamity entirely foreseeable? – Yours, etc,
