Sir, – Fintan O’Toole’s “Is Ireland a developed country at all” (Opinion & Analysis, July 16th) is incorrect in stating that Ireland has “excellent motorways” for those who don’t depend on public transport.
There is no motorway nor rail connection to any of the Ulster counties that are in the State (let alone cities like Derry).
Does that really count as excellent or even an alternative to good public transport? – Yours, etc,
