A chara, – Joseph G O’Hanlon’s tongue-in-cheek suggestion (Letters, August 12th) that only university graduates should be allowed to vote reminded me of Seanad Éireann elections where only certain university graduates, TDs, Senators and councillors are allowed to vote, some of them several times. This is only for 49 Senators with the other 11 chosen by the Taoiseach.
