Sir, – When complaining to my mother over half a century ago about being cold, the retort was always, “Put on another jumper”. The energy crisis appears to have resulted in some regression in our household.
When recently remarking on the low household temperature to my wife, this “Put on another jumper” riposte appears to have been resurrected, with the resulting scurry for some woolly apparel.
