Sir, – Eugene Tannam criticises Ireland’s Future because of its failure to recognise “the potential loss of their identity” for unionists (Letters, October 6th).
Phil Dunphy criticises Jim O’Callaghan TD (who spoke at the recent Ireland’s Future event in Dublin’s 3 Arena) for his comments about cultural equivalence for loyalist flute bands and the Kilfenora Céilí Band (Letters, October 1st).
As both letters show, the challenge of identity has a lot to do with how we look at the same thing. Importantly, Ireland’s Future gives us a mirror – as well as a lamp. – Yours, etc,
