One island, two nations

A starting point for discussion

A chara, – John Bruton, in his very useful and eloquent essay (“Are there two nations on the island of Ireland, and could they be fused into one?”, Opinion, October 14th) does your readership and the country a useful service in delineating the sketchiness of the Border poll conditions and in reminding us of the cultural and political similarities to the period of 1885 to 1925.
