Sir, – Yesterday morning, I arrived at the bus stop opposite the rugby stadium in Donnybrook at 6.45am, planning to catch the 145 bus to Heuston Station to catch the 7.20am Waterford train. However, the bus did not arrive until 7.15am. No taxi with its roof light “on” would stop when hailed.
As someone lucky enough to have reasonable access to public transport, I try to take it as often as possible. However, I’m beginning to think again. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan refers to what he calls a “gyratory transport system” (News, October 15th) in Dublin.
The mind boggles at such a colourful description! – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I would ask the Minister for Transport to take the 32 bus from Dublin to Letterkenny to experience the joy of not knowing exactly when he might actually get to Letterkenny. He could usefully spend the time (four to five hours) on the bus perusing the data on breakdowns and delays experienced by the long-suffering public on this route.
Transport for Ireland needs to add some small print to the effect that its terms and conditions do not apply to Donegal. – Yours, etc,
