Sir, – Homebuyers should treat with caution the recent relaxation of the lending rules announced by the Central Bank (“Central Bank defends inflationary easing of mortgage rules amid cost-of-living crisis”, Business, October 19th).
More than likely it will lead to an increase in the numbers eligible to bid for the existing limited stock of houses for sale.
Surely it can only drive up house prices without delivering one new build? – Yours, etc,
