Sir, – It was no surprise that Eileen Dunne announced her retirement from reading the news on RTÉ in an understated and professional manner; it has been the way she always read the news (“Eileen Dunne signs off on final bulletin after 42 years in RTÉ”, News, November 18th). This was especially welcome during the really dark days of Covid-19.
