Sir, – For St Andrew’s Day, herewith two exemplars of Scotland’s largesse to the world.
For this Scotsman’s soft palate and nose, it’s a Chivas Regal. It edges out Glenfiddich, unless one is looking to pour it on the rocks.
Aberfeldy 16-year-old single malt is as smooth as silk, a softly flavoured single malt, not too spicy or too smoky. A lovely soft fruity, honeyed Highland malt.
Very drinkable.
