Sir, – Maurice Fitzgerald writes “many people keep their coats on” in church (Letters, December 7th).
I have yet to see coats being taken off. A more striking memory is of men, heavy coats firmly buttoned up, down on one knee at the back of the church with cap resting neatly and conveniently on top. – Yours, etc,
