Sir, – I read a lot and quite frankly Hilary Fannin’s column is one of the highlights of the week (“I’ve been writing this column since I was 50. Time for a break”, Life, December 30th).
A refreshing, funny and at times bracingly honest take on a wonderfully eclectic choice of subjects.
I would like to say thank you for the fun of the last 10 years and, seriously, on behalf of all the fans of Fannin, I hope that she reconsiders her decision to stop writing her column.
Anyone can pose for moody photos in Howth, but very few have the gift of that particularly evergreen scribe. – Yours, etc,
