Ireland for All demonstration

Not a party-political event

Sir, – I am a Fine Gael member who attended the Ireland for All demonstration on Saturday. I was proud to be there. I know several Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael supporters who went. I believe it was a wise decision on the part of the leadership of both parties not to attend “officially”. Had they done so, the headlines would have been dominated by the anti-Government rhetoric of the various Opposition elements attending, detracting from the central message: “Ireland for All”. – Yours, etc,
