Sir, – When questioned about a specific debt write-down by AIB, the Taoiseach is quoted as saying that “I imagine it’s linked to how much the person is able to pay back, rather than who they are”. As a taxpayer, I imagine that the bank should adopt that approach when they issue loans in the first place. – Yours, etc,
