Sir, – Newton Emerson’s comparative analysis of the different spins put on the Windsor framework by the UK and the EU (Opinion & Analysis, March 2nd) reminds me of the story about the original recipe for Brown Windsor Soup.
It appears that the author’s handwriting was so bad that no-one knew whether it was a recipe for soup or soap. It did clearly explain, however, why Brown Windsor Soap looks like soup and Brown Windsor Soup tastes like soap. – Yours, etc,
