Sir, – It was stated on the RTÉ radio traffic report this week that northbound traffic on the M50 in Dublin was moving slowly near the N2 junction due to “loose animals on the road”. I suppose whether they were migrating elephants or homing pigeons is immaterial, but it seems quite odd not to identify the species. One can only hope that their owners can be identified and face the consequences. – Yours, etc,
