Protestant institutions have escaped scrutiny

Sir, – How right Padraig McCarthy (Letters, March 13th) is to draw attention to the fact that religious orders are not the only organisations open to abuse in schools.

To restrict inquiries just to Roman Catholic organisations would seem to suggest that that church is inherently more to be mistrusted than any other organisation.

What about the Protestant mother and baby homes which escaped inquiry because they were owned and managed by quite separate boards? – Yours, etc,
