Sir, – As one with whom I crossed swords in times past, it beggars belief that letter writer Danny Morrison can still enumerate a list of atrocities that involves every organisation in Northern Ireland with the exception of the Provisional IRA.
Even now, in a letter to The Irish Times (April 11th), he finds fault with Fintan O’Toole for reiterating the statement by the late, great Seamus Mallon that the Belfast Agreement was “Sunningdale for slow learners” (Opinion & Analysis, April 8th).
Surely, at this critical time of rapid movement towards local and inclusive governance in Northern Ireland, he should be man enough to call out one of the main players in the list of organisations responsible for most of the atrocities, ie, the Provisional IRA. – Yours, etc,
