Sir, – I was in the checkout queue at the Aldi store in Ballybofey, Co Donegal. I noticed an older gentleman having a conversation with the young lady on the till. After a little while, the old gentleman went to exit the store, somewhat struggling with his purchases. When I got to the checkout lady, she had beckoned a colleague to her. I overheard her telling her colleague to help the old man with his shopping, saying that she noticed that he had his change, including paper money, in his hand. Her colleague then went and assisted the man with his shopping purchases and making sure that he had put his money safely in his pocket. A simple act of kindness. – Yours, etc,
