Sir, – I read with interest “Corporate tax rate of 15 per cent will pose companies ‘significant challenges’, says Minister for Finance” (Business, September 13th), wherein it is reported that it will become ever more challenging for businesses to ensure that they are tax compliant with the impending harmonisation of corporate tax rates.
My heart bleeds in advance for companies and their tax advisers coping with the extra 2.5 per cent tax burden.
I wonder (more in hope than expectation) if Revenue will be equally understanding of my own challenges in ensuring that I maintain tax compliance with my 40 per cent marginal income tax burden in addition to USC, PRSI, VAT, excise duties and all the other taxes and levies that I experience on a daily basis? – Yours, etc,
