Sir, – What is the point of those “live” rolling updates some digital media outlets favour? The level of change and breaking news even in tragic events is not that great hour by hour, or even day by day. The result is a live blog with a very low signal-to-noise ratio when it comes to communicating valuable information. It’s the same information constantly repeated and summarised and repackaged with ludicrous baton-handoffs between journalists. Update the individual articles when new information warrants it, or leave them there. – Yours, etc,
