Sir, – Brenda Gallagher’s letter reminds me of something similar that happened with my late mother (”Jury service at 99″, Letters, October 24th).
On the morning of her funeral I went to her home to pick up some bits to bring to the church.
While I was there, the post arrived and I checked a letter addressed to her. It was from the county register summoning her to jury service.
