Sir, – I want to thank the people who helped me when I tripped and fell in Nassau Street in Dublin last Friday. I’m a healthy 78 year old but would find it difficult to get up off the pavement. Spontaneously, people came and helped me. I was very grateful. It made me realise that kindness and concern are the normal responses of strangers to anyone in trouble. Thank you. – Yours, etc,
