Unexpected moments

Sir, – Billy O Hanluain’s letter is an inspiration (December 21st). I agree with all he says about grief. Anniversaries are not necessarily the worst times as we are ready for them, but the unexpected and unexplained rush of grief at other times can be shattering. However, if there is no grief it means there has been no love – the most important thing of all and for which no price is too high. – Yours, etc,
