Basic facilities

A chara, – Further to “People will wonder why something unique was torn down for something generic”, (Una Mullally, Opinion & Analysis, January 15th) and recent correspondence (Letters, January 16th and 18th), St Stephen’s Green shopping centre appears to me to have the least regard for patrons needing to respond to the call of nature. Absolutely hopeless. It must have been originally designed by a male well able to “hold it”.

Ikea in Ballymun has plenty of so-called “rest rooms”, while a sports superstore just across from Ikea had none for customers. I’m no architect, but I’m human. All planners should be more tuned in to what are basic facilities. – Yours, etc,
