Sir, – Further to “Ambassador Theatre operators seek to fence in venue for safety” (News, January 29th), if fear of fires, vandalism, blood, urine, vomit, excrement, beer cans, wine bottles, cigarette cartons, bin bags, needles, threats to safety and antisocial behaviour are “no justification” for protective railings around the Ambassador Theatre, as Graham Hickey of the Dublin Civic Trust claims, then the venue’s patrons must be a hard-boiled bunch. – Yours, etc,
Dr JOHN DOHERTY,
Gaoth Dobhair,
Co Dhún na nGall.
