Sir, – The Minister for Justice plans to bring to Cabinet orders to increase processing efficiency for migrants from “safe countries” which the Government believes will “decrease efforts to use the asylum system as a back door to economic migration” (News, January 30th). As we operate a system of “self-deportation”, I doubt that the Minister’s newly “efficient”' system will have any impact whatsoever. – Yours, etc,
