Sir, – With Simon Harris as the youngest taoiseach ever, it has been widely commented upon that this Dáil term is the first during which three taoisigh will have served. In addition, President Michael D Higgins now becomes the first president to present the seal of office to four different taoisigh during his time in office. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – While offering best wishes to Simon Harris, one hopes he has his eye on the clock given it is only a few short months to the summer recess and there is still no sign of the Covid inquiry. Other promised Government actions requiring action and energy include, but are not limited to, the proposed remediation scheme to fix defects in Celtic Tiger apartments.
