Sir, – Who is going to compensate pedestrians who are knocked down by e-scooters being controlled in a negligent fashion?
Those who can be identified and happen to have house insurance may well have an indemnifier for a negligence action, if they can be identified.
As an e-scooter is a mechanically propelled vehicle, then surely the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland will most likely step in to compensate injured parties.
