Sir, – As the portal connecting Dublin to New York “is asleep” (Letters, May 18th), I wonder if it might be worth reconsidering the choice of destination? A link to Las Vegas might be both sustainable and scientifically instructive. Firstly, the lewd behaviour of Dubliners might cause less offence in a location famous for a liberal, permissive outlook. And secondly, I’m not sure if the widely held belief that “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” has ever been empirically tested. – Yours, etc,
