Sir, – I am disappointed to see that The Irish Times has taken the decision to restrict much of the letter page on their website to subscribers only. I understand that running the paper of record isn’t a charitable cause and a profit is required. However, given letters are sent by the public to the editor for free, and given that it now requires an Irish Times subscription to view the letters online, can we expect a cut of the proceeds if published?
