Groundbreaking research

The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – Frank McNally is to be congratulated on his comprehensive account of Harry Gleeson’s funeral and its background (An Irishman’s Diary, July 11th). However, he omitted to mention the contribution of the late Marcus Bourke (and the local historian Eddie Dalton), without whose groundbreaking research, published by Geography Publications in 1993 as Murder at Marlhill, the ultimate exoneration of Harry Gleeson would not have been possible. – Yours, etc,

PÁDRAIGÍN RIGGS,
