Sir, – The Government’s response to the scoping exercise on sexual abuse in Catholic schools is to set up yet another inquiry (“Schools abuse: Almost 2,400 allegations at more than 300 religious-run institutions disclosed to inquiry”, News, September 3rd).
The sexual abuse of children is a criminal offence. Why has the task of investigating this not been delegated to the organisation in the State that is responsible for such criminal investigations, An Garda Síochána? – Yours, etc,
