Sir, – After two full weeks of chaos and congestion at Dublin’s Connolly Station, Irish Rail has admitted that it needs to change timetables introduced on August 26th in order to address “punctuality issues” (“Irish Rail to amend new timetable following complaints”, News, September 10th).

Hopefully, the proposed amendments will address the punctuality issues experienced by numerous commuters, their employers and childminders, who never asked for changes to the timetables in the first place. – Yours, etc,
