Sir, – Michael Harding’s reminiscences of November in the graveyard struck a chord (“As I left the graveyard, I reflected on what November does to the soul”, Life, November 6th).
Like many of my age, I find myself mainly meeting old acquaintances at funerals.
The words of a friend at a recent burial continue to resonate: “I know more people under the ground than above it, and my silent conversations in the graveyard have begun to outnumber those in town.” – Yours, etc,
