Life’s quiet satisfactions

Small wins

The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – I fully empathise with Frank McNally’s satisfaction in just avoiding a parking ticket (An Irishman’s Diary, November 7th).

I share that very feeling when I mow the lawn and it starts raining, when I snag a seat at the bar moments before the local football team breezes in, or when I catch the last train just as the doors are closing.

Now, I’m just waiting for the day a flight attendant tells me to turn left as I’m about to go right! – Yours, etc,

ENDA CULLEN,
