Sir, – An insipid election campaign has supposedly been livened up by an aside from Michael O’Leary regarding teachers.
His other comment that we should prepare for a population increase to six million people drew little comment.
Given our ongoing difficulties as a country in providing housing, healthcare, education and decent transport for our current 5.3 million population, I await the publication by all political parties of their asylum and immigration policy.
It is particularly relevant at present, given the failure to do so since the 2002 general election decision by all parties not to discuss either issue for fear of stoking racism. – Yours, etc,
