Sir, – It was interesting to read Frank Lynch’s letter (June 16th) and how comparatively inexpensive tickets were for the World Cup in 1966. He even got a ticket for the final for 10 shillings.

Since he was there, he might enlighten us on the still pressing question: for Geoff Hurst’s second goal, did the ball really cross the line? – Yours, etc,
