Sir, – The article "Sell GAA matches to Britons to boost tourism" (October 6th) may have inadvertently given some readers the impression that the British Irish Chamber of Commerce unequivocally supports the campaign by Dublin Bay Studios to use Dublin Port land as the preferred location for a Dublin film studio.
While we support in principle a job-creating Dublin city centre studio, our recent policy paper emphasises that the chamber “urges the Government to work with the applicants to ensure a ‘suitable location’ is provided for”. Other sites deserve consideration such as Ballymun or Swords and an important wider discussion is needed to make the best site choice for the wellbeing of the sector and of Dublin in terms of both jobs and trade. – Yours, etc,
JOHN McGRANE,
Director General,
British Irish
Chamber of Commerce,
Newmount House,
Lower Mount Street,
