Madam, - In recent years the Munster rugby team has made a remarkable contribution to the development of rugby at European level, both in the Heineken Cup and Celtic League competitions. Accordingly, I feel the province deserves to have a decent size stadium of its own - say, a 45,000-seat capacity stadium.
Limerick city, which has become the "home" of rugby in Ireland and is close to Shannon Airport, would, I might suggest, be a good choice for such a stadium. Certainly, "A" Internationals and other major games could be played there, with great benefit to the local economy.
The traditional thinking that everything has to take place in Dublin because it is the capital of Ireland is an anachronism. Surely the time has come to share major sporting events with the provinces. - Yours, etc.,
