A word for the Celtic Tiger

Sir, – Quite apart from the heavy burden of  repayment, our grandchildren’s legacy will likely include having to hear the term “Celtic Tiger” used in reference to this sad and sorrowful era of political and financial failure. May I suggest we strike it from the record. In its place, let’s call it what it was – the Greatest Recorded Era of Economic Development, otherwise GREED.   To all who contributed,  the nation will be forever in your debt. – Yours, etc,

JOE PALMER,
