Sir, – The proposal from Department of Justice officials that "employers" should have ready access to the criminal records of employees is misdirected ("Law would allow employers access to criminal records", July 7th).
Given the destruction wrought on the nation by the nefarious activities of some “employers” in recent times, surely the reverse is more urgent and appropriate, whereby the law would facilitate the prospective employee to snoop around the darker corners of the employer’s closet. – Yours, etc,
