Sir, – In Maureen Gaffney’s article on the wellbeing and optimism of Irish people (“Ah, sure well all be grand”, Weekend Review, August 4th), no one seems to have mentioned the faith and hope that inspire optimism in the goodness of God. Thousands of Irish people who believe in God, are gifted with that sense of trust that “all will be well”.
Or might there be intentional censorship of that truth? – Yours, etc,
