Sir, – It was really refreshing to read the letter from John Owens (May 30th) thanking the nurse who called an ambulance, the Dublin Fire Brigade paramedics, the garda from Store Street and the Mater hospital medical staff.
All these people helped Mr Owens when he tripped on the kerb in Abbey Street in Dublin and suspected that his hip might have been broken.
To quote Cicero, “A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all other virtues”. A heartfelt “thank you” goes a long way. Please copy, readers ! – Yours, etc,
