Madam - Friday's "humorous" piece on the hunger strikes, by one Newton Emerson, may have seemed funny at the time of suggestion.
However, whether one agrees politically with them or not, I do not think the death of 10 men through starvation is a fit subject for this sort of cheap mockery.
It was unfunny, vindictive and in extremely bad taste (pun definitely not intended).
However, in the spirit of fairness and balance, can we now expect to see similarly light-hearted takes on such topics as Enniskillen, Lord Mountbatten and the Brighton bombings? - Yours, etc,
