Madam, - It seems to me that there are now more mendicants, miscreants and impoverished malcontents on the opulent streets of Dublin than there were 10 years ago. So perhaps we could dispense with the absurd and erroneous notion that the rising tide of latter-day affluence has raised all boats: Nothing could be further from the truth.
It is beyond me how anyone in their right mind could continue to harbour such a sentiment. Indeed, it beggars belief. - Yours, etc,
