Sir, – Your article "Conflicts of interest widespread in boardrooms", (Business, April 13th) fails to mention the ultimate conflict, and one we will never eradicate, which is when a board member professes to show concern for his company's clients when his duty to the company means that he must squeeze the maximum possible profit from them. – Yours, etc,
