Sir, – Newton Emerson suggests a Border poll may be needed to clear the air (Opinion & Analysis, September 6th). All fine and dandy until the result comes in. The air will be thicker with bile, vitriol and recriminations than a Trump rally. The various referendums and Brexit campaigns will look like a Bewley's high-tea afternoon.
