Madam, - In business time is money - except, it seems when it comes to the Irish Road Hauliers Association, whose members are quite prepared to waste endless time and fuel avoiding the toll on the Drogheda Bypass and negotiate the narrow roads of Drogheda with its nine sets of traffic lights, while continuing to harass Drogheda's weary population with fumes, noise and erratic driving, merely to avoid a payment of a paltry €4.80.
Do the members of the same association drive through the back roads of France to avoid their tolls? Luddites are alive and well and in charge of the Road Hauliers Association. - Yours, etc.,
BRENDAN O'CONNOR BARRY, North Quay, Drogheda, Co Louth.
